A six bedroom log lodge that sleeps 30, on 38 wooded acres along the Wild & Scenic Pine River. Kayaks, fiber optic internet, two fireplaces, and one very long table.
5,100 square feet of log and fieldstone above a bend in the river, with room for everyone you'd want to bring.

The great room looks out over the water on three sides, and there is a fieldstone fireplace on the main floor and another on the lower level. One of the two burns wood and the other runs on propane. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator and plenty of counter space, with a second full-size refrigerator on the lower level, so cooking for a crowd is no trouble. Downstairs there's a game room with shuffleboard, ping pong, darts, and a poker table.
A wrap-around deck faces the river, and there is an outdoor cooking area set away from the house, with a Blackstone. There are two fire pits, one by the lodge and one down by the river. The kayaks and life jackets are kept up at the lodge, with a path down to the water.
A short film of the lodge and the river, if you would rather see it than read about it.
Most weekends the lodge is full of one big family. Here is what it gets used for.
Most of our guests are families, often three generations at once, getting everyone together for a week or a long weekend. With beds for thirty, nobody has to stay at a motel in town. The kids spend the day at the river, the grandparents take the deck, and everyone has dinner at the same table. Summer weeks usually book six months to a year ahead.
A few couples each year get married on the riverbank and keep the lodge for the whole weekend: a tent on the front lawn, a ceremony down by the water, and the house full of family. We rent you the house and the land, and the wedding itself is yours to plan. See real weddings and what's included on the small weddings page, then call Mark. He will tell you straight whether it will work on the property.
Christmas is the big one. From the end of November through late January all three floors are fully decorated, and families book the lodge for the whole stretch between Thanksgiving and the new year. Golf trips are the other regular: there are five courses within about 33 miles, and a group can play 36 holes and still be back for dinner at the long table.
Thanksgiving, milestone birthdays, church retreats, and fishing trips with old friends all work well here too. If your group needs one big house, it will probably fit. Weeknights from fall through spring are the quietest and least expensive time to come.

The log lodge just feels like a warm blanket wrapped around you.

Six bedrooms and three and a half baths across three floors. Tap through each level. Twenty-one beds sleep thirty, and there's room for more on couches, cots and futons.
The great room with its wall of river windows, the kitchen with its full-size refrigerator, one very long table, and the Duck Blind master suite with its own private deck entrance.
The Pine is a federally designated Wild & Scenic river and one of Michigan’s best trout streams. It runs right past the lodge.
Paddlers rate the Pine among the best rivers in the Midwest. The water is quick, clear, and cold. Launch the lodge's kayaks from the yard, or local liveries can bring extra boats and run a shuttle for a longer float.
Blue-ribbon trout water. The season opens the last Saturday of April.
